Ruth Matt, CFP®, RICP®
Founder and CEO
Ruth Matt is dually registered as a Registered Representative and an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network®, Member FINRA/ SIPC, a firm of more than 200 experienced advisors around the country. With a B.A. from Cornell University and more than 30 years of experience in investment and financial planning, Ruth brings a seasoned perspective to her clients and helps clients create regular income from accounts to replace their salary in retirement.
She obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification or CFP® in 1988 while serving as a Trust Officer in a New Jersey Bank, and more recently (2015) received the Retirement Income Certified Professional® in 2015. Ruth is a member of the Financial Services Institute. She also contributes to the Foundation of Financial Planning which provides pro bono planning to members of the military, high school students, and families without resources to hire a financial planner.
Ruth lives in Portland, along with her husband, Jonathan, a senior software engineer for Residential Mortgage Services (RMS) in South Portland. Their son Peter, a former U.S. Marine (Aviation Electronics), lives with his wife Maria in Pennsylvania and is now studying Engineering at Penn State. Peter has landed an internship with NASA for the summer. Ruth and Jonathan are delighted to have a granddaughter, McKenzie.
Ruth is an avid hiker, USTA tennis player, and classical pianist. She plays duets for the Portland Rossini Club where she performs regularly. She is also fluent in Spanish, her college major.

Bryce assists Ruth in serving her clients, including answering incoming requests, preparing for and conducting client review meetings, and researching new products to meet client goals. Bryce started his career in investments as a financial advisor at Edward Jones in 2016 before joining Fore River Financial in 2019.
Raised in a proud multi-generation military family, Bryce was born in Florida while his father was in the U.S. Navy and then raised in Detroit. After moving to Portland during high school, Bryce attended University of Maine to earn a B.S. degree in business with a concentration in marketing.
Bryce has always been very active and competes in powerlifting competitions around New England as time and training permit. He spends the majority of his free time with his partner Darcy, a respiratory nurse at Maine Med, and their young son Nash, a truck and dinosaur fan. They enjoy boating and hiking the trails between Portland and Downeast Maine. They live in Westbrook with three crazy dogs.
Client Services Manager
Diane Brackett is the Client Services Manager for Fore River Financial. With Diane managing much of the office administration, Ruth focuses on investment trends and financial planning strategies to meet the needs of her clients. She assists Ruth with appointments, business forms, beneficiary changes, and ensuring client access to their accounts through our state-of-the-art online access system called Investor360. Clients have also come to know Diane’s more creative side as exemplified by the Fore River Financial annual calendar and birthday cards featuring Diane’s photos.
Diane graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern Maine, and her diverse background has included positions as technical writer, administrative manager, editor, retail market research associate, business communications manager, and English Instructor at the University of Southern Maine. Diane lives locally with her husband, Eric, an airline pilot, along with their Irish wolfhound and two black labs. Their daughter Abby graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and is currently a software engineer at an aerospace company on the West Coast. Diane is an enthusiastic gardener, artist, photographer, history buff, and reader. Diane’s ancestral home, Brackett Orchards, in Limington, ME, has been in the Brackett family since 1783.
